Braddock Viaduct

Originally a wood trestle built in 1897, the Braddock Viaduct was converted into a concrete bridge by the Union Railroad in 1914. In service for more than 100 years, concrete arches along four blocks of the Braddock Viaduct were rehabilitated with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵÍø® Shotcrete MS – Fiber Reinforced by Mosites Construction. The loose and deteriorated concrete was removed with a jackhammer to prepare the surface before shotcrete was applied from 4â€ thick to 2’ deep to make the repairs. Silos were used on the jobsite to consistently and efficiently mix, pump and apply the shotcrete 100 feet in the air.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵÍø® Shotcrete MS – Fiber Reinforced is a single component Micro Silica enhanced repair material that achieves more than 9,000 PSI at 28 days, and features very low rebound and permeability characteristics.
